Oi Electric Co. Ltd. was established in January 1950 aiming to produce and sell telecommunication devices mainly including carrier telephone equipment.
Because we initially intended to establish the company at Oi-machi, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, we named it "Oi Electric Co., Ltd," and subsequently opened business in Gotanda.
With the expansion of business, we relocated to Kikuna, Kohoku-ku, Yokohama in May 1960, the current head office location.
From the outset of its founding, the company developed and commercialized open wire carrier and power line carrier telephone equipment. Since then, aiming to ensure stable power supply to facilities, the company has been promoting business by positioning the electric power security communication segment as its main business pillar.
For the first time in Japan, we achieved the commercialization of pocket pagers in the 1960s, which contributed to the development of another business pillar for the company's growth, thereby allowing us to go public on the over-the-counter market in August 1995.
Pocket pagers, which characterized a period in history, have recently become obsolete, making us face a continuing harsh business environment. However, we will continue to promote activities toward achieving new business growth and development through the concerted efforts of all employees under the motto "Technology and Creativity."

The information and communication network market, which surrounds our company and the group, is a market whose environment varies greatly, exposing us to fierce competition. However, from the perspective of ongoing new investment driven by the key concept of "ecology" and needs for improving information utilization toward a secure and safe society, we now have opportunities to expand our business by enhancing the performance of information networks and promoting communication infrastructure development related business.
